Visual language of target market

- sticking up against regular fashion

target market's environmental awareness
- medium
- probably aware of all the major issues of the time (global warming etc)

Irregular Choice

When Cindy gave me the irregular choice shoe photo, I initially pictured Goth dressed teenagers. But the website shows quite a different story. The photo slideshow shows young stylish women wearing the shoes as obvious accents.

From the website:

The Story
- started by Danny Sullivan. not a formal designer but footwear runs in the family
- inspired by Japanese split-toe look
- company attempts to break with convention
- the idea is to make you look twice, with garnishing and detail that any wedding cake would be proud of
- each collection has its own references far removed from standard fashion
- designed to appeal to totally individual irregular souls

Competition (Irregular)
- photography competition
- children's "design a pair of IC competition"

Water Art

These displays are definitely going into our water lounges!!!

Wow, I want both of these things! :)

Of course, they'll use rain water and be solar/thermal powered. :)

Employees of the Month Promote the Tap

NOTE to Bindu and Tony, please read below for my initial brain dump. :)

Vancouver on Tap

Purpose: Bottled water is terribly wasteful and bad for the environment, so Cindy wants us to think about 3 or more initiatives to push municipal tap water. :) We should aim to change the habits of people who normally drink bottled water.

Target Market: The office (Employees of the Week!)

Eugene's Concept1 - Corporate Water Lounge
- why? cause ambiance is the proverbial "secret sauce" to any great meal/drink or memorable interaction.
- basic strategy is to place tap (filtered) water in an awesome environment. Perhaps we can locate bottled water in "non-awesome" environments (beside the toilet seat, beside cafeteria garbage cans, etc). :)
- replace the typical water cooler area with something much more profound
- the new "water lounge" is an environment surrounded and inspired by water
- overall concept based around water, fluidity, purity
- Zen-like or ultra modern yet comfortable...
- incorporate the best water filters in the business with some indicator showing how
pure the water really is - clean facts are hard to deny
- incorporate beautiful water vessels for drinking
- incorporate some water concept art... will try to post some images if I get my laptop back in time

Eugene's Concept2 - Lunch and Learn
- some large companies provide simple lunches for employees once a week
- during the lunch, a speaker gives a talk about something of interest
- create something interesting and engaging
- incorporate new water cups for employees somehow
- ask Chris Jordon to come in to show his photography
- show Manufacturing Landscapes
- still thinking...

Note to Bindu and Tony

Yo team, my laptop is broken right now so my posts might be a bit late (typing from my wife's PC)... hopefully I'll get it back in working order on Mon/Tues/Wed. :P They're replacing the logic board. :P Good thing it's still under warranty!
