- very stylistic
- yellow, black contrast

Inspiration:
- Dior Homme
- iPod
- Mummy 2 trailer
- Nike, my better is better
- Gatorade

Possible Characters:
- ovechkin
- crosby
- kerri walsh
- nastia liukin
- usain bolt
- michael phelps
- music stars
- dance stars
- youtube goofballs

Woah, sudden thought pattern change.
Come back to slick usual Web 2.0 look a bit later.

New Thoughts - Experimental!
Consider user generated YOUTUBE content (such as the BIGGEST ONLINE DANCE COMPETITION EVERY), and pimp up the video to tie in with Banana energy. This content can be offered as opening sequences (probably have to shorten the length). Offer prizes to the teens. Allow teens to add credits to the movie so that all their friends know whos who.
Teens like watching their friends and showing off, and also hanging out with their idols (like Miley Cyrus, Adam Sandler, Chris Brown, Linsey Lohan).

The banana charging concept can be portrayed the same in a slick Web 2.0 look as well, so the idea is transferable.

BACKGROUND
AC DC a Teen Dance/Music Youtube entitiy got over 7 million his on their video “Dance Battle 2 with Miley Cyrus, Adam Sandler, Chris Brown, Linsey Lohan... etc”
It got a 5 star rating with 28516 votes. From the comments, it appears to appeal to guys and girls.

Campaign: The BOLT EFFECT

While trying to think about an online game, I ran across the interesting fact that the World's Fastest Man, Usain Bolt, eats GREEN bananas for breakfast. If anyone has ever seen this guy run, it's insane. In the 2008 olympics he smoked the field, for the last 10 meters he basically coasted too!

In other respects, he kindof embodies the personality of a banana - bright, yellow, happy, energetic, goofy, gregarious, etc.

There are a number of funny youtube parodies of his 100m race that I based the online game on. I'm sure there are other running games out there, but not with the same focus. :)

So, Bolt inspired me to make a campaign, that initially started from a game idea.
Could spill over to other "Bolt-like" characters like Hockey start Ovechkin.

The choice of food before the game is similar to what some online sports gear manufactures do before their online games (ie. choose a shoe, tennis racket, and colour, etc.)
The depictions of Bolt's reasons for slowing down are taken from a funny youtube video.

The online game feeling, or theme, can basically be an idea of keeping the athlete/idol's personality in the game. Often, only the "sports" skill is translated into a game. I think it would be great to translate the personality into the game. Ie. Ovechkin is very similar to a Bolt-like personality - super awesome and not afraid to flaunt it. Other personalities like Kerri Walsh, v-ball gold medalist, might be more nurturing, and that can be brought through in the game as well.

The Ovechkin game might revolve around a skill competition and Ovechkin trying to "teach" a player how to do a move, no matter how improbable that you'll master it.

Campaign Strategy

Kelly and I discussed what we wanted for our Campaign Strategy:

Campaign options
1. Image of recharging/refueling from a banana.
2. Shock & Awe, Crash & Burn
3. anything else that may develop

Kelly is interested in the following topics
1. Preliminary logo
2. Posters
3. Commercials
4. Blogs

Eugene is interested in,
1. Web intro
2. Online game (associated with some sort of theme)

Scenario 3: Teen Idols passing on their wisdom

Pro Athletes/stars show teens that their tools/methods can also work for them, no matter what their age. Use the symbol of the battery banana (a variation?) to show energy transfer from super amazingly talented person to regular joe.

Scenario 2: How much is enough?

Show events of great physical difficulty (from climbing mountains to helping your buddy move apartments) and show a trail of banana peels to indicate number of bananas required. Website can have a banana chart, or calculator to help you out.

Scenario 1: What happens when you run out of fuel?

When you get the "Low Banana Energy" warning what can happen?
Disaster!!! Of course.

This could be a funny segment that can span every topic imaginable. From figure skating to writing your final highschool exam. We can make a spoof out of almost every human en devour out there... :) Although a banana can be considered a competitor to Gatorade, Powerbars, etc. we can approach from a funnier or more light hearted angle. Hmmm.

Banana Fuel/Battery Refinements

Ok, Kelly and I have narrowed down our main concept:
Banana is fuel for humans.
How to represent this? Literally show the banana as a battery.
How to create a multi-pronged campaign?
We need to answer some of the following questions. Feel free to comment Kelly.

1. How to represent the banana as a battery.
2. How to represent the presence of charge or lack of charge.
3. How to present charging
4. What scenarios can we create (ie. like the GameKillers dating scenarios)?
5. Can we create a consistent look a feel to the campaign?

First problem...
1. How to represent the banana as a battery.

AA batteries almost look like bananas.
Gas meters also indicate energy.
"Low battery" on camcorder displays can be useful for telling a tale.
Hold banana between fingers for charge?
Rising yellow graphic for charging?
